Why does Xeo create software?
At Xeo it's all about the love we give. This is the standard we use to measure our personal and professional lives. M. Scott Peck defined love as the willingness to suffer for another’s benefit. Accordingly, we never stop asking ourselves “How can we give more?”
We love our users by ceaselessly seeking ways to boost productivity, even if only to save one click, so our users can spend more time with their families.
We love our clients by providing the best possible ROI so they are able to grow their business that much more quickly.
And we love our staff by encouraging work-life balance so that our turnover is almost zero and the same stable team can support our clients year after year.
“Life is all about the love you give.” Murph was in his early twenties when he first articulated this guiding principle, which has shaped his life ever since. Initially, it led him to pursue a career in psychotherapy. However, after graduate school, he discovered a passion and talent for database technology, a field that remains enjoyable to him even 25 years later.
Murph is a strong believer in service. During graduate school, he volunteered to help a hospice patient with colon cancer. He then served six years on active duty in the US Army, including a tour near the DMZ in Korea. After his military service, he spent five years as a Big Brother with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Honolulu. He married his wife, who recently completed 24 years on active duty as a pediatrician in the US Army, including a tour in Afghanistan. Murph is a Rotarian, a Paul Harris Fellow, and a member of the Rotary After Work club in Fort Collins, Colorado, where he lives with his wife and two sons. He also serves on the board of his homeowners association, volunteers with the local Chamber of Commerce, and proudly supports Realities for Children, which helps local at risk children.
In 2022, Murph’s favorite thought leader, Dandapani, published “The Power of Unwavering Focus.” Inspired by the book, Murph purchased and distributed over 100 copies. He still has a few copies left, so feel free to reach out if you’d like one. Through it all, Murph believes that you get what you give and that his leadership of Xeo is just one more avenue for him to serve others.
